Dayna Baird
After graduating from Duke
University School of Law, Dayna returned to work briefly at a law firm in Columbus before
joining Government Edge in 1995. In her years as lobbyist, Dayna has developed numerous
legislative programs and carried them through to completion. She has secured renewals of
large state contracts, prepared and offered testimony, drafted amendments to legislation,
initiated grassroots campaigns, conducted legal research, and assisted in PAC strategy
development. Dayna currently serves as the Executive Director and association manager for
two significant state associations. In addition, Dayna spends an extensive amount of time
volunteering on campaigns and serving as the Vice Chair of the Ohio Legislative Black
Caucus Corporate Roundtable.

Ric Baird
After graduating from Furman
University in 1994 and spending three years playing professional golf, Ric returned to
Columbus and joined our current Governorıs election campaign. Ric volunteered countless
hours and established relationships with the members of Ohio's Administration. After the
Governor's election, Ric worked as a legislative aide to the Chairman of the Senate
Finance Committee, which oversees the state and agency budgets, until February 2000, when
he joined Government Edge. While with the Ohio Senate, Ric worked on numerous issues in
the biennial budget bill, the capital appropriations bill, the individual state agency
budgets, and the Tobacco Task Force legislation. Ric also contributes a significant
portion of his time to various House and Senate campaigns during election years. Ric is
proud to be a third generation Baird in the Columbus and Washington, D.C. political
arenas.

Rick Baird
Rickıs management experience and
his training in finance, insurance, and banking have been invaluable to the growth and
success of Government Edge. Rick began his career with Beneficial Corporation in 1964 and
entered the Ohio lobbying arena in the early 1970s. He followed in his fatherıs footsteps
as government relations director for Beneficial Management Corporation, working directly
under the chief executive officer with responsibility for Ohio and several surrounding
states plus Washington, D.C. Consequently, he understands the corporate culture and the
importance of strong government relations, particularly as it relates to a companyıs
bottom line. In addition, Rick served as an officer, public affairs chairman, and PAC
chairman for financial associations in several states. He also was a member of several
task force committees relating to insurance and finance. In the late 1980's, Rick founded
the independent family firm, which is now Government Edge.
